Hey family! This week was awesome! We didn't do much big stuff, but one of our investigators is progressing so much!! Ah Amir is amazing!
So every Monday night we have family home evening for investigators and any members who want to come that don't really have anyone to do it with! So we usually have about 8 people there and we teach a spiritual thought then eat and play games! It's really fun! Amir last week came and brought two friends with him which was cool and both his friends are now investigators (so go Amir!!)! But before his friend, Mohammad, was an investigator he wasn't very interested so we didn't really worry about him that night. But Amir brought him to his next lesson with us! And he is a Muslim and kept asking Muslim questions like about how Jesus Christ is actually a prophet and all the annoying stuff they usually say. We were nervous cause we didn't want him to confuse Amir but Amir totally stopped him and totally shared an amazing testimony and was standing up for our church and now Mohammad is totally interested and is reading the Book of Mormon and meets with us! So not only does Amir have an amazing testimony, but he is still keeping the word of wisdom and stopped drinking coffee and tea! He told us since he stopped his head has been kinda hurting but he sleeps better and feels better! Ah he's amazing!
Our other two with bap. dates are doing good! Andre has been super busy with work but is meeting with us this week. He's still super excited for his baptism but is getting super nervous! So we are going to explain to him how satan works haha! And Masud is struggling a little, he can't stop smoking and is having a hard time accepting the plan of salvation! So we are working hard with him!
For pday we toured the bvb stadium which was super cool! It's biggest soccer stadium in Germany (or in all of Europe I can't remember?) and it was super hard to understand the tour guide! But it was awesome I have a bunch of pictures! I don't know much about soccer and the tour guide used big German words and my vocabulary really just consists of church words and very limited conversation words haha! So I didn't really know what was going on but the locker room was cool and we got to run through the tunnel with cool music playing! It was cool!
To answer your questions, my area is seriously huge!! It's hard with public transportation to get to places fast cause some peoples houses it takes like an hour to get there and an hour to get back!! We are over a ward! It's not very big and has the cutest old people! But the young women is only about 5 girls and the young men consist of one kid named Lucas and we don't have a primary, which is sad! So I try my hardest to talk to families to get more kids to come haha!
So this week my goal was to talk to people every chance I got and I did and got 7 potentials! And we have plans to meet with all of them and I want to tell you about three of them! The first was this cute Indian couple. I noticed they were not speaking German so I figured that was my excuse to talk to them and asked where they are from and they ended up speaking perfect English and are from India and just got here a couple years ago! And I just talked to them on the Bon for a
while and of course they asked why I'm here (which is my favorite cause it leads right to the church) And I told them and they thought it was so cool that I would do this for 18 months at my age and they said there must be something special about it...so I happened to have an English Book of Mormon with me, which I usually didn't, and I gave it to them and we are meeting!
The second is when I was walking down the street and noticed a gnarly lookin guy with long half red half black hair and a half red half black beard and nose piercings and I thought...why not! So I went up and he was weirded out at first but I asked if he saw the Weil Er lebt video and he said no...so we started talking about it and he ended up being atheist but said that he liked the way I was totally accepting to him saying that and I just kept talking to him so he took a book and wants to meet to learn more!
The third is this kid was sitting on the Bon and was wearing a army outfit and I wanted to talk to him so bad but for some reason I couldn't think of something to say and I sat there for like 5 minutes trying to think of something and all of a sudden he leans forward and asks "so your name tag means your a Mormon right?" And I was super surprised and told him ya and we just started talking and he grew up religious and says he wants to learn about our church haha so that one was easy but awesome!
I'm glad the boys are feeling better! I've been thinking about you guys a lot this week! We are having stake conference also! It should be really good! I love and miss you guys soooo much!! And I can't wait
to hear from you!!
