Week 12

So I tried to get on as early as possible today! This was the best I could do! But this week was awesome! We didn't do much, but we met with a lot of people! I met this guy marek! He is seriously so rad! I was walking down the street and saw this guy and he just looked awesome! He has long hair and it's half red half black and he has a gnarly beard that is also half red half black and he had great piercings on his face! So obviously I talked to him! He was so respectful and kept complementing my German (which was awesome) and he said he's not super interested but would love to learn more about our church! So we met with him and he's actually atheist, but I'm convinced that we can change his mind! He's super cool though!

We also met Solji! I met him the same day and he's from Africa and has a super cute 6 year old daughter! He has an awesome testimony of God! But we have only met with them once so I'll keep you updated with them!

Amir is still awesome!! I was trying to explain how God is our Heavenly Father and I thought I could use my dad as an example so I was saying how I am here and my dad is in America and I can't talk to him everyday, and I miss him, but I have my Heavenly Father and I can talk to him and all that missionary stuff... and what he said back was
"oh sister baker.. If you are ever sad or miss your family, just remember you always have a brother right here!" Oh he's awesome! And he loves talking about the church! A couple days ago we met with him and Mohammad together and I asked Mohammad to be baptized and he was saying how it really dangerous for him cause you aren't allowed to leave the Muslim religion and how they have rules and Amir started saying that he felt the Christian rules make more sense and he likes them better and Mohammad got really mad and started raising is voice and was like "oh ya Amir are you God? Can you decide what rules to follow?" And they started arguing in Persian so we decided we should start meeting separate! haha ...but they are fine now and both came to
stake conference together!

We met with a referral we got and we got to his apartment building and the clingy es were broken so we didn't know how to get in (I told Sister Carroll I would boost her up and she could go through the open window but she didn't like that idea) so we got these guys with their window open to let us in! And three doors later we found the kid and we knock on door and it opens and the smell of pot just engulfs us!
And he's soooooo high!! And he's like, "whaaaaatssss uuuuppppp!" And we told him who we were and how we got a referral and he was like ohhh yaaaa!! I want to learn about Joseph Smith! I believe him! And I was like oh ya! And he said ya dude cause it happened to me! And I went
with it and learned a lot about him and his future goals but he wants to meet again and promised me he wouldn't come high! So we will see how that goes haha!

Another funny story! At stake conference three speakers spoke English so they had translators and the lady that was speaking was telling a story about a swimmer! (Side note: mist in German meets poop or crap)  and she was talking about how the mist was thick and she swam through the mist and all the missionaries were trying soooo hard to not laugh!! hahahaha

I'm glad the boys are feeling better! And dad will do amazing! I want to hurry and send this so I love you so much and miss you all like crazy!!!
Love sister baker:)

Ps-- I think I already told you about marek. Oops. Sorry.

Week 11--cont.

So, after receiving last week's story about the man in the ACDC hat, I wanted to specifically ask her if she had any more fun, scary or amazing experiences she wanted to share.  She most certainly did not disappoint. It is hard to believe the sweet girl of mine has been in Germany five weeks tomorrow. She will have now finished the 11th week on her mission!

I am so proud of her...and I miss her. Every. Single. Day.

Have a fabulous week! ❤️

Mom--
So I have something freaky...but awesome!!

So I saw this big (like muscle big not fat) black guy and another more normal, but still big, black guy standing there. I smiled at them and they made the mistake of smiling back! So I went to talk to them and the one really big guy found out I was from a church and he totally started straight up yelling at me! Like yelling mom!! haha ...and he was saying how church is what is wrong with the world and that's why no one gets along and all this other stuff... and how people just need to forget about God.  I was kinda scared cause well that's scary ya know?? I just got this feeling to ask if I could share my testimony... so I asked, very nicely I might add, "is it okay with you if I just share my testimony without you interrupting?" He said yes and folded his arms. So I did! I just shared my testimony about how important church is and why...and that god loves him so much and doesn't want him to feel that way and that he is one of gods children.  Then I asked him to please take the Book of Mormon and he said, calmly now I might add (and not to brag but I think he felt the spirit) he said that he didn't want it because he knew he wouldn't read it. I said I just want you to take it, and he asked why. I told him that maybe in ten or more years he would find the book again and remember me and decide to finally read it...and that God would still be waiting for him... and he just smiled and said "Wow, I'll take it". Then he said thank you and he had to go. Then his friend came up to me and said thank you and asked for a book and said he would change his mind for me and they left...and that was awesome!

Week 11

Hey family! This week was awesome! We didn't do much big stuff, but one of our investigators is progressing so much!! Ah Amir is amazing!

So every Monday night we have family home evening for investigators and any members who want to come that don't really have anyone to do it with! So we usually have about 8 people there and we teach a spiritual thought then eat and play games! It's really fun! Amir last week came and brought two friends with him which was cool and both his friends are now investigators (so go Amir!!)! But before his friend, Mohammad, was an investigator he wasn't very interested so we didn't really worry about him that night. But Amir brought him to his next lesson with us! And he is a Muslim and kept asking Muslim questions like about how Jesus Christ is actually a prophet and all the annoying stuff they usually say.  We were nervous cause we didn't want him to confuse Amir but Amir totally stopped him and totally shared an amazing testimony and was standing up for our church and now Mohammad is totally interested and is reading the Book of Mormon and meets with us! So not only does Amir have an amazing testimony, but he is still keeping the word of wisdom and stopped drinking coffee and tea! He told us since he stopped his head has been kinda hurting but he sleeps better and feels better! Ah he's amazing!

Our other two with bap. dates are doing good! Andre has been super busy with work but is meeting with us this week. He's still super excited for his baptism but is getting super nervous! So we are going to explain to him how satan works haha! And Masud is struggling a little, he can't stop smoking and is having a hard time accepting the plan of salvation! So we are working hard with him!

For pday we toured the bvb stadium which was super cool! It's biggest soccer stadium in Germany (or in all of Europe I can't remember?) and it was super hard to understand the tour guide! But it was awesome I have a bunch of pictures! I don't know much about soccer and the tour guide used big German words and my vocabulary really just consists of church words and very limited conversation words haha! So I didn't really know what was going on but the locker room was cool and we got to run through the tunnel with cool music playing! It was cool!

To answer your questions, my area is seriously huge!! It's hard with public transportation to get to places fast cause some peoples houses it takes like an hour to get there and an hour to get back!! We are over a ward! It's not very big and has the cutest old people! But the young women is only about 5 girls and the young men consist of one kid named Lucas and we don't have a primary, which is sad! So I try my hardest to talk to families to get more kids to come haha!

So this week my goal was to talk to people every chance I got and I did and got 7 potentials! And we have plans to meet with all of them and I want to tell you about three of them! The first was this cute Indian couple. I noticed they were not speaking German so I figured that was my excuse to talk to them and asked where they are from and they ended up speaking perfect English and are from India and just got here a couple years ago! And I just talked to them on the Bon for a
while and of course they asked why I'm here (which is my favorite cause it leads right to the church) And I told them and they thought it was so cool that I would do this for 18 months at my age and they said there must be something special about it...so I happened to have an English Book of Mormon with me, which I usually didn't, and I gave it to them and we are meeting!

The second is when I was walking down the street and noticed a gnarly lookin guy with long half red half black hair and a half red half black beard and nose piercings and I thought...why not! So I went up and he was weirded out at first but I asked if he saw the Weil Er lebt video and he said no...so we started talking about it and he ended up being atheist but said that he liked the way I was totally accepting to him saying that and I just kept talking to him so he took a book and wants to meet to learn more!

The third is this kid was sitting on the Bon and was wearing a army outfit and I wanted to talk to him so bad but for some reason I couldn't think of something to say and I sat there for like 5 minutes trying to think of something and all of a sudden he leans forward and asks "so your name tag means your a Mormon right?" And I was super surprised and told him ya and we just started talking and he grew up religious and says he wants to learn about our church haha so that one was easy but awesome!

I'm glad the boys are feeling better! I've been thinking about you guys a lot this week! We are having stake conference also! It should be really good! I love and miss you guys soooo much!! And I can't wait
to hear from you!!
